The Anczukow lab is dynamically engaged in the training of the next generation of cancer researchers by mentoring students and postdocs, and participating in science outreach programs.
We provide individualized research training and mentorship, access to superior scientific services and unparalleled mouse resources, and a uniquely collaborative academic research environment. We seek to produce top notch science and foster the development of outstanding, independent scientists through nurturing mentorship and interdisciplinary, collaborative efforts.
We have close collaboration with members of the JAX NCI-designated Cancer Center, the Nathan Shock Excellence of Research on Aging Center, and the JAX Rare Disease Translational Center, bridging the fields of RNA biology, cancer, aging, epigenetics, immunology, and rare diseases.
PhD training
The Anczukow lab accepts students enrolled in the PhD graduate programs at UCHC, UConn ISG, and Tufts, as well as the MD/PHD graduate programs at UCHC.
Once you are enrolled in one of these programs, please contact us directly if are interested in joining the lab for a rotation.
Postdoctoral training
We are always looking for talented and motivated candidates looking to study the role of splicing in diseases.
The JAX Educational Group provides opportunities and workshops for professional skill development. Candidates will be encouraged to apply for competitive foundation and federal training fellowships and awards. Exceptional candidates also have the opportunity to become a JAX Postdoctoral Scholar, a selective award that includes an independent research budget, travel funds, and a salary above the standard postdoctoral scale.
Undergraduate Research Opportunities
JAX offers undergraduate research opportunities, including a Summer Student Program, as well as two-year postbac training programs in genomics and data science that prepares you for the rigors of a PhD or MD/PhD program.
Science Outreach Programs
The Anczukow lab is proud to participate in local, regional, national and international outreach events to discuss our cutting-edge research with patients and their families. We take part in educational activities at JAX and in other institutions, including at science fairs, career forums, and Women in STEM events. Our research has been highlighted at events led by the Jimmy V Foundation, ESPN, CT FOX61, Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation, CT Junior Science and Humanities Symposium. Please reach out to us if you are organizing an event.
